Meet Valerie, the amazing visionary, event stylist and owner of Top It Off Designs. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Valerie in several events and I am always blown away by how fantastic her parties are; she is the queen of details!

How to style a dessert table by Top It Off Designs

Plan Ahead: Decide what you would like to include on the table. Have a variety of desserts and candies but pay attention to the colors of the desserts. Limiting the colors you use will add a bit more of drama and harmony to the table.
Mock Up: Style a mock up of your table before the event. Decide what containers, cake stands or platters you will use and get an idea if you need additional sweets or if you possibly planned for too many.
Height: Create a few different levels in height using cake stands and dessert platters on risers to make everything more visual. Candy filled apothecary jars are always best kept towards the back while low laying platters in the front. Placing containers on boxes wrapped in pretty wrapping paper is another cute way to create height.
Backdrop: Adding a backdrop will add frame and give your table the extra wow factor. Wrapping large foam boards in fabric is an easy DIY. Just remember to starch when you iron the fabric and to pull tight when wrapping the foam board! Banners, pom poms or paper fans are also great ways to create backdrops.
Celebrate: It’s time to enjoy all those yummy sweets with your guests!

This particular party was super amazing. The theme was Mickey Mouse’s Farm and Valerie had amazing details all over! From the balloons, to the pinata, to the dessert table, all the details of this party were extraordinary.
