Meet Jeannie and her lovely family! She is expecting her third child and this time around she is having a girl Her husband and two sons are very excited about the baby’s arrival and they decided to joined her in her artistic maternity session.

When I met with Jeannie to custom designed her session, the fist thing she told me was that she loves nature, so deciding on her location was a piece of cake!

Oh My! This session was absolutely amazing and I am super excited about the final result I met Felipe 15 years ago, and he’s been one of my very best friends ever, so when he married Michelle I was super happy as she is just as fantastic as he is, plus the fact that she is also a photographer brought us even closer. So my good friends came all the way from North Carolina and they wanted a “fall” looking session…Yes, I think they forgot I live in Miami and we actually don’t experience fall But I am here to please my clients and exceed expectations so I found this super adorable forest that screams FALL. Yes, the following images are very fall looking despite the 85+ degree weather.

This session is very dear to my heart. Not only I love the final images, but Cata is my BFF!  Her baby boy will arrive at the end of October and I can’t wait to meet him. Our session started early in the morning at a gorgeous park; there I photographed Cata, Dave and their little daughter Sophia. Later on Cata and I hit a very trendy spot in town where I was able to get some  and urban look.

I am sure I will be back in Tampa soon to photograph her whole family again, this time with their cute little addition. Cata, Dave and Sophie thank you so much for inviting me to Tampa to spend some quality time with you See you guys very soon!

Hello Friends, This week I started something new on my Facebook page,  and now I will be hosting weekly topics. Yeah!!!

This week is all about maternity! You are more than welcome to jump in the conversation, post your thoughts and share the love. today I have the pleasure to introduce to all of you the talented Rachel May, a fellow photographer based out in beautiful Portland, OR. She wrote a very sweet and honest post about the importance of having done a maternity session. Enjoy!

Maternity Sessions by Rachel May

As you prepare for a baby you float through 9 months of expecting life to change without knowing exactly HOW it’s going to change.  Especially if that baby is your first. It’s a special time of life although often overlooked in it’s importance to photograph. Too many easy excuses to skip a maternity session with growing waist lines and lists of other things to purchase. However, with each of my newborn and birth clients I highly recommend the Mini Maternity session for several reasons. The biggest reason being the importance of this time that will no longer exist when baby gets here. If the baby is your first, the last weeks/months of your pregnancy mark the last that you and your partner will be on your own. If it’s a sibling, it marks the last time you’ll be just the 3, 4 or 5 of you for the rest of your lives. It’s a special time, and although a time when you might not want 2 whole hours of photos…it is a time when a few images captured of your life before baby will be treasured as much as those first images of their sweet wrinkled feet and sleepy eye lashes.

The mini maternity session also provides the perfect atmosphere for mom and dad to get to know their newborn/family photographer. In a few weeks this photographer will come into your home and you will entrust the most precious and valuable of times to them to capture. When you meet and get to know your photographer subsequent sessions will fall into a comfort zone more quickly, allowing mom and dad to let them into your hearts to really capture those important moments that you just don’t want to ever forget.

So who is Rachale May?

“I am a Portland, Oregon based photographer who loves capturing people. Portrait photography comes very natural to me and the part of the job I enjoy most is meeting new people and being a witness to their truly amazing lives.  I also love to be outdoors and am working on growing my nature portfolio in hopes that I can sell my fine art and landscape work. Photography is so much apart of me, I love everything about it…to me it is like a journal. It freezes a phase in life that would otherwise be forgotten.

Frank & Bianca are SUPER AWESOME and very much in LOVE. They waited until the last minute (I am not exaggerating, baby Nola was born five days after this shoot) to do their maternity photos. When I saw Bianca I could not believe she was walking in such high high heels! But Bianca is FABULOUS and looking amazing is a must on her list It was super nice to see how in LOVE these two are. Congratulations on your baby girl I can’t wait to photograph her.

I am super excited to blog this session. Not only is the first one of 2011, but also Jissel and Kenny are dear friends of mine.

I met Jissel in 2008 when I used to work on the corporate job, she was so friendly that I couldn’t walked away from her. We had so much to talked about and we enjoyed our lunches together. At the time I was very involved with my self-portrait projects and Jissel talked me into photographing her. I have to admit I was nervous, she was the first person outside of my family I photographed. So there you have it, three years ago Jissel was my very first client and I wan to thank her for her constant support.

When she shared with me the news of her pregnancy I couldn’t help it but to smile! Not only I was super excited for her and kenny, but I also knew there were going to be some amazing sessions ahead. Knowing my friend I knew she was going to have some super cool ideas for her maternity session and of course newborn session (OK one thing at the time).  I love how gorgeous jissel looks. Her belly is perfect and I can’t wait to meet that little one.

I can’t believe that 2010 is almost over! Time really flies when you are having fun 2010 was an AMAZING year and I want to thank all of you for making it successful, exciting and very memorable. It was thanks to all of you that I have grown as a photographer, business owner and most importantly as a person; I am very grateful to have you all as a part of my life.

As I look at all the pictures I took in 2010 I see a whole bunch of HAPPINESS! I met tiny babies, pretty girls, big boys, couples in love, cool families and just overall a whole bunch of AWESOME people! My goal was achieved: I had an AWESOME time in 2010 with all of you and your amazing photos were just the side effect of it! THANK YOU for choosing me as your photographer! Lets do it again in 2011.

Mona & Rafa are expecting their firs baby boy! I am super excited for them. They are a super sweet couple and right now the are glowing with Joy.
