a very talented photographer asked me the simplest question of all: “Why do you do what you do?” I sat in silence for a moment and my memory took me back to a an exact moment in time, the moment where I knew the power of a camera. I was 5 or 6  years old and my uncle was a well established photographer, we were on a family outing to the country side and he had his camera with him. I was following him, not because I liked him, but because I wanted him to take my  picture! He was always photographing his kids and he never, not even once pointed his camera at me. I was determined to have him photographed me. I thought that if I was to walked right next to him, the two of us alone, then he had no other choice but to take my picture. I was wrong. As we were walking, we saw this five year old, country girl, standing on the street and he asked her if he could take her picture. He was so excited to take her picture, but she looked at him and with a determined no she ran away.  I stood there looking at him, in my mind I was screaming at him: “DON’T YOU SEE ME?? I AM HERE, TAKE MY PICTURE!” but I said nothing and he kept on walking.

20 years later, and after collecting only a handful of pictures of me as a child, I asked  my husband for a camera, and I started a Self-Portrait project. I photographed myself for two straight years before I pointed my camera at somebody else. I do what I do, because I know people want to be celebrated & remembered.

I met Carmen, the owner and designer behind the brand Nest & Cradle, thanks to Lourdes and I am extremely thankful she thought of this store as the perfect match for my business and, of course, my clients.

I love Saturdays, well I love any day I can go out on my bicycle with my husband Chris and just enjoy a ride around the city(and scouting locations for future photo sessions). Lately Chris have shown an interest for photography and since I have two cameras,Lupe & Mark, I let him use one. I am a nice wife, right? Last week my friend Tracy, the Creative Director of Academy of Glam, asked me to be a guest photographer for a make up competition. The Make up artists were doing some amazing make up on the dancers of Masala Middle Eastern Dance Fusion (Check them out they do some awesome performances! Imagine having them at your event, how COOL would that be?). Although, I photographed all the beautiful ladies that are part of this troop, Erin, the co-director, was my very favorite (Don’t get me wrong, all of them are absolutely nice, but I just LOVE LOVE Erin’s costume).

Meet my aunt and uncle! They live in Colombia and came to Miami to visit. This was a very fast session, after 10 minutes my uncle was ready to move on with his life, but my aunt made him stayed for an extra five minutes. From the old archives, one of my favorite pictures. The location was a local carnival, and yes I am wearing my wedding dress. Processing done by the talented Miss Aniela

I just got this image printed on Metal and it looks so freaking amazing I can’t wait to invite friends over just so they can see this! Location Midtown Miami. We were shooting with my good and talented friend Juan Roja when this car drove by and I had to jump in front of it to make it stop. That car IS A BEAUTY and I had to have my picture taken with it!( Oh yes and that is a wig!)

This one was taken in my bedroom with my 50mm f1.4 Love the way the focus is on my right eye. Sometimes I just get lucky

This one I took it at my local gym! It was a project but I nailed it! Second place on a competition hosted by the South Florida Camera Club Oh and I printed this on acrylic and it looks STUNNING!

This one was taken on my bedroom after I showered. I love the vintage look of it! Inspired by the song Watch Over Me

I am a very lucky girl! Last week I met the Paritzky’s, a lovely family from NY that was spending the weekend in Miami visiting family. They are SO MUCH FUN and from the moment we met we had a great time. Jonathan and Judy are super nice and their kids David, Lili and Avi are just amazing. Thank you so much for such a lovely afternoon, you guys made me laugh a lot. I hope we see each other very soon, hopefully on the Jersey Shore!

Do you remember this wedding? Manchis + Manchis are back! This hot couple did not get their engagement session, so after almost seven months of happy marriage we went out and about to capture a fun afternoon in the Miami area. We did some transpasing exploring at the metro station and even went for a ride on it (first time that I ride the metro in Miami), laughed until our faces hurt and talked about marriage life. It was a FANTASTIC time! Manchis+Manchis I truly enjoy your friendship and I can’t wait to see you guys again! You and your jokes really make me happy

Brandon & Jennifer welcomed their first baby girl on April 19,  and some days later they contacted me to give her a very warm welcome with her fist photo shoot!

Kyndle is just too cute. At the beginning of the session she was just a little hungry, but once she was fed and Brandon cuddled her in his arms she went peacefully to sleep. Brandon and Jennifer were just AMAZING! Such a nice couple and very easy going for being newbies. Congratulations on the beautiful new addition to your family! And I can’t wait to photograph beautiful baby Kyndle one more time.
