Villa Woodbine Wedding Guide

Outdoor wedding in Miami at Villa Woodbine

If you’re planning a Villa Woodbine wedding in South Florida, you’re in the right place. This Miami historic wedding location is one of my absolute favorites—and not just because I got married here myself!

Villa Woodbine has a charm that you can’t deny. Its Mediterranean-Renaissance architecture, plus the privacy of its garden and courtyard, gives you the idea that you are no longer in Miami but somewhere in Europe. Hence, this is perfect for couples looking to add some extra charm to their wedding aesthetic.

The Villa is perfect for intimate ceremonies, yet the garden is big enough to accommodate large weddings.

Villa Woodbine Wedding Guide: Miami’s Dream Venue with European Charm

Venue Location:

The Villa is located at 2167 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133

This is a perfect Miami wedding venue for couples hosting out-of-town guests, as it sits in the heart of Coconut Grove — a vibrant neighborhood surrounded by luxury hotels, top-notch restaurants, and just a short drive from Miami International Airport and the beach. It’s an ideal blend of tropical charm and city convenience!

Parking & Transportation:

Villa Woodbine offers convenient on-site valet parking for guests. Since the venue is centrally located in Coconut Grove, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are easily accessible. If you’re expecting a larger group or want to streamline transportation, your wedding planner can arrange a shuttle service to transport guests to and from the venue seamlessly.

A Mediterranean Wedding Venue Steeped in Miami History:

Villa Woodbine is a dreamy historic mansion tucked away in Coconut Grove, Miami. Designed in the 1930s by architect Walter De Garmo — known for his signature Mediterranean-Renaissance style — the villa is packed with charm.

Originally a private home, the estate eventually became one of Miami’s most beloved wedding venues, thanks to its lush gardens and timeless architecture. The towering oak tree, coral rock accents, and intimate courtyard create a vibe that feels like you’ve escaped to a European villa, right in the heart of Miami. It’s a place where history and romance blend perfectly, adding an extra layer of meaning to every celebration.

How Many Guests Can The Villa Accommodate?

Villa Woodbine can host intimate weddings as well as larger celebrations, with a maximum capacity of up to 250 guests.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces at Villa Woodbine:

Despite its intimate feel, Villa Woodbine offers plenty of options for your ceremony and reception.

  • Ceremony Sites: There are three different ceremony locations, depending on the size of your wedding and your vision for the day.
  • Reception Garden: The lush garden is an ideal setting for an outdoor wedding in Miami, with twinkling lights and the mansion serving as your backdrop.
  • Courtyard Dance Floor: Dancing takes place in the courtyard, providing your guests with a truly magical experience.

The Villa doesn’t offer an indoor reception site. 95% of the event space is outdoors, and during June to September, due to high temperatures and the rainy season, the main garden is under a clear tent with A/C.

If a rainy day is a concern, no problem, an event tent can be available upon request.

Getting Ready Spaces:

Villa Woodbine offers two distinct getting-ready areas, so you can choose what works best for your wedding day needs.

  • Downstairs Room: A smaller space with limited natural light — great as a holding area or for quick touch-ups before the ceremony.
  • Upstairs Suite: The star of the show! This large, sun-filled suite has plenty of room for your wedding party, plus a private bathroom (no shower) and a secluded terrace where you can take a quiet moment before walking down the aisle.

If you’re getting ready on-site, I recommend using the upstairs suite for hair, makeup, and photos, and reserving the downstairs room as a hangout space or for last-minute touch-ups.

Wedding Vendors:

Villa Woodbine works with some of the most amazing and talented vendors in South Florida, and they provide a list of them to their couples.

If you want to work with your own vendors, you are more than welcome to do so, except for the catering. Villa Woodbine catering is exclusively serviced by the outstanding Bill Hansen Catering.

Any vendor that works at Villa Woodbine must present proof of insurance and sign an agreement form.
